Esther A. Radke, 86, of rural Van Meter died from complications of Alzheimer's disease Oct. 8, 1999, at the Madrid Home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church of rural Van Meter. Burial was at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Esther Radke was born Sept. 19, 1913, to Joseph and Mary (Janda) Boos of rural Van Meter. She married Carl William Radke on Dec. 7, 1932, at Trinity Lutheran Church. A lifelong resident of the Van Meter area, Esther, a homemaker, was a member of the Women's Club, Trinity Lutheran Church of rural Van Meter and the Ladies' Lutheran Aid.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by three sons, Bill of Van Meter, Don of St. Louis, Mo., and Robert of Lincoln, Neb.; one daughter, Maryann Duax of Clive; two sisters, Lucille Fisher and Irene Brittain, both of Adel; one brother, Bob Boos of Indianola; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church of Van Meter.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Fisher Funeral Home of Van Meter.
