Wednesday, May 5, 1999Bulah Gladys Simpson, 85, died of a heart ailment May 1, 1999, at Winterset Care Center South.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 4, at Macksburg United Methodist Church with the Revs. Neil Platon and Bill Branson officiating. Burial was at Moon Cemetery near Macksburg.
Bulah Simpson was born June 2, 1913, in Montgomery County to Ben and Mattie (Bennett) Richardson. She married Dale Leroy Simpson on Aug. 26, 1932, in Bethany, Mo. A homemaker, she lived most of her life in Madison County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, two sisters, two brothers and one granddaughter.
She is survived by two sons, Willard Dale Simpson (wife Kathryn) of Des Moines and Richard Leroy Simpson (wife Theanna) of Mt. Ayr; two daughters, Catherine Ann Drake (husband Joe) of Winterset and Wanda May Scott (husband John) of Greenfield; a son-in-law, Floyd Bailey of West Des Moines, one brother, Ben Richardson of Villisca; one sister, Edith Wasson, also of Villisca; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Macksburg United Methodist Church or Winterset Care Center South Activity Fund.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
