MRS. GLADYS POINDEXTER MCDONALD

Gladys Virginia, the daughter of Charles A. and Bessie Dean Poindexter, and wife of Lee F. McDonald, was born in Douglas township, Madison County, Iowa, on January 27, 1898, and died in the Mercy hospital, Des Moines, on November 10, 1930, aged 32 years.

She spent her childhood in Douglas township, a happy winsome child. She graduated from the Winterset high school in 1916. Her marriage to Mr. McDonald was on September 10, 1919. The early years of their married life was spent in Madison county. A year was spent at Adel. For the past six years the home has been in Des Moines. God blessed the home with three boys: William Howard, Francis Clark and James Lee. She early confessed Christ at Winterset, and held her membership in the Pitzer United Presbyterian church.

Mrs. McDonald had four brothers and one sister: J. E. Poindexter of Dix, Nebraska; Chester A. Poindexter, of Moscow, Idaho; Mrs. Flossie L. Boyce, Ray and Neal H Poindexter, of Winterset. To these, to her aged parents, and to her bereaved family, her large circle of devoted friends, extend their tenderest sympathy and commend them to her Redeemer, who is the God of all comfort.

The funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the United Presbyterian church at Winterset. Rev. W. J. Stewart, of Grinnell, former pastor of the deceased, and W. C. Porter, present pastor, were in charge. Burial was made in the (North) McDonald cemetery in Jefferson township.
