Christopher A. (Chris) Critz of Truro died at his home there last Thursday, March 7. He was 63 years of age.
Mr. Critz was born in Clarke County on February 13, 1911, the son of Charles E. and Susie Purdue Critz. He was educated in Clarke County schools, and on January 16, 1936 was married to Edith Brand in Creston.
Mr. Critz was a retired farmer and construction worker. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of St. Charles.
He is survived by his wife, Edith, of Truro; by one son, Charles Critz of Creston; and by three daughters: Shirley Herold of Lacona, Iowa; Betty Jean Swan of Des Moines; and Connie Morris of Indianola.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, as well as two sisters; Mary Brand of Austin, Minnesota; and Dorothy Garlow of Ricefield, Minnesota; and two brothers: Russell Critz of Osceola; and Lowell Critz of Indianola.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles, with Pastor Lloyd Miller of St. Charles officiating. Interment was in Young Cemetery at Truro.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 9 for Christopher A. Critz who died at his home in Truro Thursday, March 7. Pastor Lloyd Miller of St. Charles officiated the 2:00 p.m. service from the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles.
Christopher A. Critz, 63, was born February 13, 1911, the son of Charles E. and Susie Pardee Critz. He attended the Clarke County schools and January 16, 1936 was united in marriage to Edith Brand in Creston, Iowa. Four children were born to this union.
He was affiliated with the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles, Iowa.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Edith of Truro; son, Charles Critz and wife, Patricia of Creston; three daughters; Shirley Herold and husband, James of Lacona; Betty Jean Swan and husband, Ed of Des Moines and Connie Morris and husband, Charles of Indianola. Also two sisters: Mary Brand of Austin, Minnesota and Dorothy Garlow of Ricefield, Minnesota; two brothers: Russell Critz of Osceola and Lowell Critz of Indianola and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Interment was in the Young Cemetery in Truro.
