Mrs. Cordelia Edna Brown
Mrs. Cordelia Edna Brown, daughter of J. C. and Phebe M. Pearson, was born near Macksburg, Madison county, Iowa, January 1, 1877, and departed this life March 13, 1931, at Los Angeles, Calif., at the age of 54 years, 2 months and 12 days.
When she was about one year old, her mother passed away leaving her to the care of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Bonham with whom she grew into womanhood, graduated from the Macksburg high school and remained with them until their death, serving and caring for them in their old age as they had so tenderly cared for her in her youth.
Upon the death of her grandparents she started out into the world alone. After a few years she was united in marriage to Mr. George G. Brown, July 3, 1918.
She leaves to mourn their loss a loving husband, one half brother, three half sisters, two uncles, one aunt, many cousins and friends, but that which is their loss is truly her unspeakable gain.
She was laid to rest in the beautiful and restful Valhalia Memorial Park cemetery near Los Angeles, Calif., following an impressive memorial service conducted by Rev. Bruce Brown of Los Angeles, Calif., he taking for his text John 14:1-3.
