MRS. EVELYN STAPES, rural Van Meter

Services for Mrs. Evelyn Stapes, 61, rural Van Meter, who died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1986, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center of cancer, were held Nov. 18 at Fisher Funeral Home at Adel. Burial was at the Harper Cemetery in Redfield.

Mrs. Stapes was born at Hebron, Neb., on Feb. 7, 1925 and was the daughter of Levi and Pansy Foster. She was married to Harley Stapes Aug. 1, 1943 in Arizona.

A homemaker, she lived in the Van Meter area most of her life.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Harley of Tiffin, Ronald of Moline, Ill., and Danny of Van Meter; a daughter, Sheila Stapes of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.
