Zoa G. Standing, daughter of Carroll H. and Selma P. Miles was born in Mabel, Minnesota, September 10, 1887 and passed quietly away December 8, 1980 at Homesstead Nursing Home, Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 93.

She was united in marriage to Joseph N Guindon, September 20, 1911 in Damascus, Ohio. Joseph died in Middleton, Ohio, January 17, 1959. From this marriage were born five children. Two daughters: Frances (Mrs. Joseph) Shisler, Jackson, Michigan; and Dorothy (Mrs. Harry D.) Shaffer, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Zoa was a dedicated member of the Conservative Society of Friends and was faithfully involed wherever she lived. She had love for young people and many friends and relatives attest to her Christian witness upon their lives. A number of years were spent in practical nusring in the homes of elderly folk in her Ohio community.

On August 22, 1961 she was united in marriage to E. Gilbert Standing who had eight children by his wife, Asenath, of Earlham, Iowa. Their eldest daughter, Florence, married Zoa's eldest son, Carroll, and their home is Lodi, Ohio.

Other children are: Helen Spriegel of Gallipolis, Ohio; Bertha Osborn, Earlham, Evelyn Thomas, Hiawassee, Ga.; Gladys Bierma, Des Moines; Henry Standing, Norfolk, Mass.; Harold Standing, Ankeny; and Lucille Guindon, Monte Verde, Costa Rica.

From this combined union there are 12 children, 52 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

In addition to these she leaves one sister, Irene Katy Hively of Salem, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Martha Foster and Ellen Bushman, both of Gallipolis, Ohio; and one brother-in-law, Theodore Standing of Albany, New York.
