Member of Pioneer Family Here Lived Many Years in Omaha
Mrs. Sarah L. Arthur, member of a pioneer Madison county family, died at her home near Winterset. She was 80 years of age.
Mrs. Arthur was the former Sarah Lulu Snyder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Snyder, and was born in Winterset May 28, 1864. She was reared in this community and as a young woman she was married to Ernest W. Arthur. They made their home in Omaha for many years.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur were the parents of one son. Both Mr. Arthur and the boy died in 1931.
For the past 12 years Mrs. Arthur had made her home in and near Winterset.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Fred Mardis and Mrs. Clara Young, and one brother, Warren Snyder, all of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Anderson Funeral home here, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
