Services for Blaine V. Miles, 91, Winterset, who died Aug. 14 at his home, were held Friday, Aug. 17 at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Jerry Zanker officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery with Masonic graveside services.
Born at Patterson on Aug. 26, 1892, he was the son of Daniel T. and Jessie Bird Miles. He was a livestock buyer and retired in 1974.
A lifetime resident, he was a member of the First Christian Church and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge.
On Feb. 3, 1912, Mr. Miles was married to Bess E. Burd.
Survivors include sons, Dan of Mesa, Ariz.; Philip of Van Meter; and Victor of San Diego, Calif.; daughters, Margery Boresi of West Des Moines and Eileen Risher of Winterset; a sister, Mary Totman of Marshalltown; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
