Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Mease, 90, of Winterset Care Center North were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21 at Collins Funeral Home. Burial was in the Peru Cemetery with Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Mrs. Mease died April 19 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital.
Born at Peru on October 30, 1888, Mrs. Mease was a daughter of Sylvester and Gussie Lillie Emerson. She was married to Grover C. Mease, who preceded her in death on October 24, 1907 in Winterset. A lifelong resident of Winterset, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church here.
She is survived by two sons, Jack and Willard, both of Winterset; a daughter, Thelma Colvin of San Diego, Calif., 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; an infant son; a daughter, Lois Eve Welch and three brothers.
