Leo Meader, Peru

Leo K. Meader, 74, of Peru died May 2, 1994 of an aneurysm. Funeral services were May 5, 1994 at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. The Rev. Richard Harbart of Des Moines officiated the ceremony. Burial was at the Peru Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 29, 1919 in Peru to Harry L. and Dessie (Decker) Meader. He married Dorothy Holmes April 10, 1946 in Kansas City, Kan. He was a farmer and a retired trucker. He was a member of the V.F.W. 8142 in Winterset and a veteran of World War II-814 Tank Destroyer Unit in the United States Army-7th Armored Division. He was a member of the Deer Creek Chapel.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Dorothy of Peru; daughter, Jane Dunbar and friend Craig Rudolf of Winterset; mother Dessie Meader of Winterset; three brothers, Clarence Meader of Gates, Ore., Nick Meader of Shelton, Minn., and Harry L. Meader of LaPorte, Minn.; and two grandsons.
