Funeral Held Tuesday With Burial in Union Chapel Cemetery
Mrs. Byron Gentry, a life-long resident of Madison county, died at her home in South township Sunday. She was 64 years of age.
Mrs. Gentry was the former Delilah Ellen Landers, daughter of Hiram and Nancy Landers, and was born in Crawford township on Feb. 16, 1879.
She was married to Byron Gentry on March 15, 1899. They were the parents of three children. Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death.
Mrs. Gentry had united with the Christian church in Patterson when she was a young woman.
She is survived by a son, Alvin Gentry of Winterset; a daughter Mrs. Maybel DeBok of Winterset; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; a brother, Perry Landers of Afton; and seven sisters, Mrs. Anna Ray of Des Moines, Mrs. Bessie Reimann of Jefferson, Gertie Landers of Peru, Mrs. Grace Huff of Jefferson, Mrs. Clyde Harrison of Peru, Mrs. Maud Harless of Grand Junction, and Mrs. Fern Harrell of Peru.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Anderson Funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
