Raymond F. Sumner, one of the last surviving members of a prominent Madison county family in past years, died at his home in Winterset last Friday at the age of 82 years.
Mr. Sumner was the son of W. S. and Mary Sumner, who came to Madison county from Illinois in 1881. They settled on a farm in Union township, just northeast of Winterset. In 1900, he moved to an acreage just west of Winterset.

Mr. Sumner's only surviving relatives are his siter, and a nephew, Leon Sumner, of Kennard, Neb.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Ramsey-Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
