Long Illness Proves Fatal to Life-Long Resident of County
Walter E. Beem, life-long resident of Madison county, died here early Tuesday, Aug. 17, following an extended illness, at the age of 73 years. He had been a semi-invalid for several years, due to diabetes.
Mr. Beem, the son of Richard N. and Elsie Newkirk Beem, was born in Madison county June 23, 1870. Here he was married to Daisy Wright on February 1, 1899, and they have been the parents of eight children.
He is survived by his wife, and six children: Everett, Francis and Donald Beem, Mary Crawford, Gladys Callison and Lillian Weaver. Two children, Alice McNamara and Albert Beem preceded him in death. He also leaves one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services for Mr. Beem will be conducted by the Rev. L. F. Davis Thursday, Aug. 19th at 2 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral home, and burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
