VERL CUNNINGHAM DIES AT ST. CHARLES

Life-Long Resident of Madison County Succumbs at Age of 54 Years

Verl Cunningham, well known resident of Patterson and Madison county, died suddenly this morning in the office of Dr. I. K. Sayre of St. Charles. Mr. Cunningham, who was 54 years of age, had a serious attack of asthma last night, and was taken to the doctor's office this morning, where a heart attack caused his death at 10 a.m. Mr. Cunningham had been injured in an accident several years ago and had been in poor health since that time.

The deceased was the son of Gibson and Frances Cunningham, and was born on the farm near Patterson, July 16, 1889. This community had since been his home. He was married to Miss Helen Cellan, July 3, 1910, and they were the parents of two daughters, Mrs. George Kinnard of Patterson and Miss Lois at home. He is survived by his wife, their two children, and one sister, Mrs. Kate Pace of Fresno, Calif.

No definite funeral arrangements had been made this afternoon when the Madisonian went to press, but it was thought that they would be held at Patterson the latter part of the week.
