Mildred Joy Mapes, Winterset

Mildred Joy Mapes, 80, died from complications of a stroke Dec. 25, 2000 at West Bridge Care and Rehabilitation in Winterset.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Winterset Cemetery. In case of inclement weather, the services will be held at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. There will be no public visitation.

Mildred Mapes was born in Comfrey, Minn. She married Clarence Mapes on Dec. 6, 1937. Mildred had resided in Winterset since her marriage. Previously, she had resided in Minnesota. A homemaker, she also was a member of the Pythian Sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Faye Jungman (husband John) of Winterset; two sister, Cleo Olsen of Sleepy Eye, Minn., and Mercedes Borsoth of Windom, Minn.; two brothers, Dick Robinson of Windom, Minn., and Marian Nickoley of Owatonna, Minn.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Activity Fund at West Bridge Care and Rehabilitation.
