LESTER "LESS" STONEHOCKER, Winterset

Graveside services for Lester "Less" Stonehocker, 70, were held Friday, July 19 at Panther Creek Cemetery in Dallas County with the Rev. Dwayne Henrichs officiating. Mr. Stonehocker died July 16, 1991, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Des Moines.

A Winterset resident since 1984, he came from Lorimor. He was born April 22, 1921 in Dallas County to Chester and Alma (Anderson) Stonehocker.

He married Lela Plymesser March 15, 1946 in Dallas County. He was a retired farmer, an Army Veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion Post in Lorimor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a daughter, and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gary of Redfield, David of Thayer, Danny of Afton, and Leslie of Hiawatha; two daughters, Virginia Hawkins and Elvera Berry, both of Lorimor; four brothers, Lloyd and Carl, both of Redfield, Ben of Macksburg, and Richard of Chariton; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
