MRS. FRANK MAHAN DIED ON MONDAY

Mrs. Frank Mahan, a resident of Madison county since early life, died Monday, Jan. 27, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 77 years of age, and had been in failing health for several years.

Mrs. Mahan was born near Greenfield May 4, 1891. She was the former Zetta Simpson, daughter of William and Anna Moore Simpson. She was married Feb. 17, 1909 at the home of her parents at Patterson to Frank Mahan. Most of their life was spent near Winterset.

She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Mahan's husband died April 12, 1952. Their daughter, Irene, died in June, 1915. She is survived by a son, John Mahan of Winterset; three grandsons; a brother, Jim Simpson of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Huglin of St. Charles and Mrs. Joe Frankford of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Melvin Mattox, pastor of Grace Baptist church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
