Page 1Mrs. Rebecca Smith Dies
Mrs. Rebecca Smith of Winterset who had been spending the winter at the home of her brother, Elmer Greenlee, south of Patterson, died Saturday morning from pneumonia. She had been ill for two weeks, with flu and complications.
The Rev. A. P. Keast, pastor of the Winterset church, of which she was a member, conducted her funeral services, Monday, February 16th, at 2 o’clock, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mrs. Smith, who was 52 years of age, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. Greenlee. She was born in Pottawattamie county, and was married in Council Bluffs in 1916. The lived at Shelby, until Mr. Smith died in 1919, and then she and her two sons came to Winterset to reside with her aunt, Mrs. Lydia Blessingham.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her two sons, Francis, aged 14 and Everett aged 12. She also leaves her aged mother, Mrs. O. Greenlee, a brother, Elmer, and her aunt.
Everett Smith has been ill with pneumonia but is now better. Mrs. Greenlee and Francis Smith are both critically ill with pneumonia, and were unable to attend the funeral services.
