MARIE STOEFFLER, Winterset

Marie Christina Stoeffler, 89, of Winterset and formerly of Nevada, died Aug. 30, 2005, at Winterset Care Center North.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 2, at the Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial was at Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Marie Stoeffler was born Aug. 16, 1916, in Nevada to Fred and Anna (Johnson) Johnson and was a graduate of Nevada High School. On Jan. 12, 1938, she married Arthur O. Stoeffler in Nevada. Marie was employed by Batman Sayers and Story County Abstract in Nevada. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, ABWA and V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Shorty Johnson and Morris Johnson.

She is survived by three sons, Fred Stoeffler of Winterset, Jim Stoeffler of Windsor, Colo., and Paul Stoeffler of Riverside, Calif.; a sister, Pauline "Peg" Airhart of Sun City, Calif.; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
