MRS. ABE L. ST. JOHN Dies

Death came to Mrs. Abe L. St. John, a resident of Madison county for the greater part of her life, while visiting from California at the home of her son True W. St. John, in Peru on December 15, 1934. Mrs. St. John has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Mildred Inhofe of Redondo Beach, California, and was here visiting her sons when stricken by a fatal illness. She was 71 years old.

Mrs. St. John was the former Perie E. Rudy, and was born in Allen couny, Ohio, the daughter of Jacob W. and Hannah Rudy on August 20, 1863. When 3 years old she came with her parents to Madison county. She was educated in the Winterset Normal and at Vinton, Iowa, and taught school several years in Benton county. In 1891 she married Abe L. St. John, who died in 1902. They were the parents of three children who survive, True St. John of Peru, Mrs. Inhofe of California and Harlan K. St. John of Des Moines. For 30 years she lived in Lorimor, going to California 12 years ago.

At an early age Mrs. St. John united with the Methodist church and has remained a lifelong member. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Lorimor.

She is also survived by two sisters, Cora L. Pinkney of Fremont, Nebraska, and Ada A. Cramer of Indianola, Nebraska, and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. E. L. Patterson of the Peru Methodist church, at the Methodist church in Lorimor Monday. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
