Death of MRS. WILLIAM V. CLARK

Mrs. Wiliam V. Clark, who spent practically all of her life in Madison county, died at her home west of Winterset on January 24th at the age of 65 years. Death came after a long illness.

Mrs. Clark was born Mary V. Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Smith, in Maine on October 3, 1869. In 1872 she came with her parents to Iowa. The family settled in this county.

On January 9, 1890, she was married to William V. Clark. They were the parents of eight children, three of whom are now dead.

Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband; five children, Vernon and Harvey Clark, Mrs. Louis Koehler, Mrs. Gladys McDonald, and Clarence Clark; a sister, Mrs. Annie Adams; and 23 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at her home on January 26th. The Rev. A. R. Weed of the West Star church was in charge. Burial was made in the McDonald cemetery.
