Florence Stifel, 87, died April 29, 2001, at Selah Convalescent Nursing Home in Selah, Wash.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 5, at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home in Selah. Burial was at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, also in Selah.
Florence Stifel was born Jan. 30, 1914, in Scranton, Kan., to Rufus and Susan (Markley) Baker. She was raised and educated in Peru. She married John V. Stifel on Dec. 13, 1934, in Winterset. They moved from Barney to Selah in May 1936. Florence was a homemaker and had worked at Blue Ribbon Growers and Reed's Custon Cannery. She was a member of the Selah Church of the Nazarene and the Silver Set of Selah. She also was active for over 30 years as a marching mother for the March of Dimes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaugher; her companion, Robert A. Clark; six brothers and sisters; and eight half-brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Charlene Williams of Selah and Chris McMahon (husband Ray) of Prosser, Wash.; three sisters, Wanda Corell of Flint, Mich., and Katherine Sprouse and Elsie Allen, both of Winterset; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
