1976T. E. Mabbitt Death At Age 76
A retired rock quarry employee, born in Madison County, Thomas Earl Mabbitt, 76, died Friday, November 19, 1976, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. He was born June 22, 1900, the son of John W. and Ardelia Lamb Mabbitt.
A lifetime resident of this county, Thomas Mabbitt was married to Isadora Harrison on January 8, 1923, in Winterset.
Survivors include his wife, Isadora; three sons, Albert E. of Council Bluffs, Gene of Madonia, Iowa, John W. of Council Bluffs; five daughters, Dorothy Pettit and Wanda Mabbit of Winterset, Louise Zimmerman of Port Orchard, Wash., Rev. Rose Mabbitt of Minneapolis, Minn., Gloria Jackson of Thomasville, Ala.; two brothers, Wesley of Topeka, Kansas, Russell of Ames, Iowa; three sisters, Vada Criss of Topeka, Sylvia Schoenenberger and Irene Kephart of Winterset; 30 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Thomas Mabbitt was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Oscar Mabbitt, a sister, Bertha Shade and two sons, Donald and Willis.
Funeral services for Thomas Mabbitt were conducted Tuesday, November 23 at 2 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home, Rev. Dave Hunter officiating. Burial was made at the Jackson Cemetery.
