Doris E. McKinney, 83, of Des Moines, died of congestive heart failure June 16, 1998.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 20 at Indianola Heights Christian Church. Burial was at Blair Chapel Cemetery near St. Charles.
Doris McKinney was born Jan. 14, 1915, in Doniphan, Neb., to Arthur and Alberta Creason. She was a graduate of Doniphan High School. On Dec. 17, 1936, she married Sam McKinney. Doris, a former resident of St. Charles, was a homemaker and longtime member of Indianola Heights Christian Church. A highlight of her life was crocheting a bedspread for the Governor's Mansion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant daughters, one brother and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband; nephews Francis McKinney (wife Jackie) and Arthur McKinney (wife Pat), both of St. Charles, and Larry Wayne Creason; three nieces; great-nephews and great-nieces; and great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines.
