William McKeever, Winterset

Services for William McKeever, 66, Winterset, who died July 7 at his residence, were held Monday, July 11, at the Peru Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating. Burial was at the Peru Cemetery.

Born in Barney on Jan. 31, 1922, he was the son of Oliver and Nellie Young McKeever. He was a retired laborer.

Mr. McKeever was married to Velma Seward on Nov. 26, 1951 at Osceola. He was a World War II Army veteran, a lifetime resident of the county and a member of the Peru United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Gene Stephenson of Winterset; daughters, Martha Kay Knapp of Burbank, Calif., and Rosalie Jones of Winterset; a step daughter, Lorna Stephenson of Des Moines; sisters, Lucille Russell of Winterset and Louise Ackelson of Des Moines; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother and a sister.
