ROSA MCELROY SERVICE HELD HERE SATURDAY

Rosa McElroy, a resident of Douglas township for most of her life, died at a nursing home here last Wednesday, Aug. 3. She was 87 years of age.

Miss McElroy was born April 20, 1873 in Mercer county, Illinois, a daughter of William and Bridget Rafferty McElroy. Her home had been near Winterset for 51 years.

Her nearest surviving relative is a niece, living in New Orleans, La.

Rosary services were held last Friday from the Richards Funeral home, and funeral services Saturday from St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset, conducted by the V. Rev. Msgr. John W. Higgins, pastor of the church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
