Rites Monday for Mahala McDonald

A former resident of Madison county, living in Missouri, Mahala McDonald, died Wednesday, July 30, 1975 at West Plains, Missouri. Her residence had been RR 1, Koshkonong, Mo.

Mrs. McDonald was born January 17, 1886 in Alton, Kansas of Elisha Eggleston and Tabitha Reigle. She eventually lived in Madison County about 25 years and was married to Joseph C. McDonald on February 27, 1907 in Winterset, Iowa. Her age at death was 89 years.

Surviving Mrs. McDonald are five children; Mable (Mrs. John Richens) of Koshkonong, Mo.; Louis McDonald of Winterset; Margaret (Mrs. Bud Spick) of St. Charles, Iowa; Thelma (Mrs. Howard Speer) of Branson, Mo. and Georgia (Mrs. Dean Silverthorn) of Koshkonong, Mo.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two sisters, Lavisa Gentry of Kirkwood, Mo. and Mary Clark of Winterset.

Funeral services for Mahala McDonald were conducted Monday, August 4, 1975 at 2 p.m. from the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with burial in the Winterset Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. C. W. Thornton.
