Louise "Dot" McDonald, 95, died Nov. 15, 2003 at Park View Care Center in Sac City.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the United Methodist Church in Sac City with the Rev. Dean McPherson and Gary Witte officiating. Burial was at Cory Grove Cemetery in Sac City.
Dot McDonald was born April 20, 1908, in Anita to John and Mearl (Benham) Clarkson. She attended Winterset schools through the the tenth grade and received her GED in Sac City as an adult.
On April 17, 1925, she was united in marriage to Ray W. McDonald in Winterset at the Methodist parsonage. Dot worked outside the home as a telephone operator, dishwasher, cook, clerk, egg candler and numerous occupations, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sac City, UMW, and Rebekah Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Bonnie Presley; a great-grandson, Adam Bogue; a sister, Nayda Johnson; two brothers, Jack Clarkson and Bob Clarkson; and a half sister, Barbara Scholl.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Witte and Linda Russell, both of Sac City; a brother, Harold Clarkson of Winterset; a half brother, Phil Clarkson of Waterloo; two half sisters, Darlene Eklov of Des Moines and Irene Carver of Estero, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Farber & Otteman Funeral Homes of Sac City.
