Aural McDonald of Des Moines, a native of Madison County, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 77. Mrs. McDonald had lived in the Winterset and St. Charles areas before moving to Des Moines 33 years ago.

Born on March 31, 1903, in Madison County she was the daughter of Wesley and Lucy Allen McDaniel. She was united in marriage to Lee McDonald, and he survives her. She was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church in Des Moines.

Surviving are three stepsons, Howard McDonald and Frances McDonald, both of Des Moines and James McDonald of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister Rose Young of Norwalk. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines with Rev. Ray Boulter officiating. Graveside rites were held later that morning at Winterset Cemetery.
