1978Phoebe McDole Died Thursday
Phoebe E. McDole, 91, a chief operator of the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 38 years, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 1978 at Memorial Hospital. She was a resident of Villa West Care Center, born in Warren County on December 25, 1886.
Miss McDole was the daughter of Nathan and Martha Smith McDole. She was a lifetime resident of Madison County and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She retired from service with the phone compnay in 1952.
Miss McDole was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and six sisters. Funeral services were conductred Saturday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home, Rev. David Livingston officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
