Frances Pauline Schoonover, 94, of Winterset, died at her home of a heart ailment on Sept. 21, 1997. Funeral services were Sept. 23 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial followed at Winterset Cemetery.
She was born in Clark County to Frank and Margaret Louisa (Iaimes) Kirk on Sept. 9, 1903. On June 29, 1924 she married Leslie Russell Schoonover in Barney. She lived in Winterset since 1980 after moving from Lorimor and was a retired teacher and homemaker. She was a member of the Garden Clubs of Macksburg and Lorimor, the Ladies Missionary Society and the Foursquare Gospel Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother and three sisters.
Surviving relatives include one son, Russell Dean Schoonover of Euless, Texas; one brother, John Kirk of Winterset; one sister Margaret Evison of Truro; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
