Richard John McConnelee died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 in his home at 301 East Filmore in Winterset of a heart ailment. Richard was born in Winterset on January 13, 1939 to Raymond Edward McConnelee and Mildred Helen Anderson. He married Mary J. Cameron on June 9, 1959 and lived his entire lifetime in Winterset.
He was an accountant, a mechanic who owned McConnelee's Standard in Winterset from 1968 to 1976, and in his later years, a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife and two sons; Mark McConnelee and wife, Chae of Hampton, Virginia; Dan McConnelee and wife Martha Jo, of Winterset; and five grandchildren, Mandy Marcia, Matthew, Wade and Jarod.
Richard is also survived by two brothers; Eddy McConnelee and wife Sandy of Buena Park, California; and Glenn McConnelee and wife, Carolyn of Aneheim Hills, California.
