Donovan D. Drake, 73, of Des Moines died of heart failure Sept. 13, 2006, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 16, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, Des Moines. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Donovan Drake was born Aug. 22, 1933, to Claude and Essie Drake of the Winterset area. Donovan worked in maintenance at Firestone Retread. He retired from EMCO.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Drake of Des Moines; one daughter, Donita Edwards; one son, Mike Drake; two stepchildren, Colleen and Scott Crowley; two brothers, John and Fred Drake; four sisters, Donna Mae Schnoor, Marlys Vaughan, Mary Jo Ewald and Janis McAuley; and five grandchildren.
