MRS. LILLIE JONES

Lillie Vea Inman was born on April 8, 1876, on a farm near Tracy. She was the second child of S. L. and Rachel Ridlen Inman. She lived on this farm with her parents until the age of eight, at which time the family mover to a farm near Oakland. Here she lived with her parents until the age of 18 when she married Elmer E. Jones on August 21, 1894. She and her husband lived on a farm near Oakland, moving to Earlham in 1904.

They lived at Earlham until 1913, when they moved to a farm near Clear Lake, Iowa. She and her husband settled in the vicinity of Redfield permanently in the winter of 1928. She has made her home in Redfield since then.

Three sons and two daughters were born to this family and they are: Edward S. of Earlham; Orie L. of Adel; Melvin H. of Perry; Effie E. England of Cedar Rapids and Verda J. Pauls of Chillicothe, Missouri. She has been preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who passed away on May 6, 1928, three brothers, Walter, Asa and Lemuel, and one sister Alta.

She is survived by her brothers; Powers Inman of Earlham; Lush Inman of Rockford; Russell Inman of Charles City; and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Pope of Mills, Wyoming. She is also survived by all of her children, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and many other relatives.

Mrs. Jones joined the United Brethren church in early girlhood and later joined the Methodist church in Redfield and has been a devout member all her life. She will be missed greatly by her family and a host of friends who knew her as one of the most cheerful and most loving Christian persons they will ever meet. Her saintly Christian spirit was a great inspiration to everyone who knew her and to all who cared for her until the moment of her passing. She went willingly home to her heavenly reward on March 5, 1956 at 3:03 a.m. at the Redfield hospital.
