HATTIE A. STRONG, Winterset

Services for Hattie A. Strong, 80, a native of Winterset who died Dec. 15, 1982, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, were held Friday, Dec. 17 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Greene officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born Feb. 6, 1902, she was the daughter of William and Mary Hutton Rhodes. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a 62-year charter member of the American Legion. She was married to Arthur Strong June 30, 1920 in Winterset.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Jack and Stephen, both of Omaha, daughters, Mary Jane Srong of Davenport, Betty L. Macumber of Winterset, Bonnie B. Beattie of Seneca, Mo., and Ethelee Reed of White Plains, N.Y; a brother, William Rhodes of Santa Ana, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, six brothers and four sisters.
