MRS. HATTIE HOWE OF TRURO PASSES

Resident of County Since Pioneer Days Was 93 Years of Age

Mrs. Hattie Howe, a resident of Madison county since pioneer days, died Dec. 23 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. D. Kale, of Truro. She was 93 years of age.

Mrs. Howe was the former Hattie Yahne, daughter of Frederick and Susanna Yahne. She was born in Huntington county, Indiana, on June 6, 1852. When she was 12 years old she came with her parents to Madison county, where they settled on a farm near Peru.

She was married to Samuel Howe on Oct. 24, 1874. They were the parents of two children, both of whom survive.

Mrs. Howe's husband died in 1937. Since that time she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. W. D. Kale.

In addition to her daughter, she leaves her son, Frank Howe of Buffalo, Wyo., four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Kale funeral home in Truro, in charge of the Rev. Frederick Cooper. Burial was made in the Ebenezer cemetery.
