W. A. Ory, eldest son of Anthony and Victoria Ory was born in Minonk, Woodford County, Ill., June 13, 1858 and died suddenly at his home near Earlham, August 28, 1930, his age 71 years, 2 months and 15 days.

Mr. Ory made his home in Illinois until the year 1902 when he moved to Earlham where he bought and built his beautiful farm home, and where he remained until the time of his death.

On June 2, 1881 he was married to Elizabeth Baber, who predeceased him December 29, 1890. To this union there were born four children, two boys and two girls. The boys are: Hugh, Aurora, Mo., Ward, Earlham, the girls, Mrs. Chloe Whittington, Eureka, Ill, and Maude, deceased at the age of three.

He was married to Clara Varble November 25, 1891, who predeceased him June 6, 1896. To this union three children were born, one boy and two girls-John Ory, Earlham; Mrs. Mina Boyer, Eureka, Ill., and Esther who died in infancy.

These trials were difficult to bear, but through them all Mr. Ory was patient and kind.

While still living in Illinois he was married to Melissia Harris January 12, 1897, who survives him.

Mr. Ory leaves to mourn his loss besides his wife and children, eighteen grandchildren, also one sister and two brothers; Mrs. Rebekah Robinson, Wessington, S. Dak., J. A. Ory, Carlock, Ill., and Frank Ory, Wessington, S. Dak., and a large number of relatives and friends. Mr. Ory was a member both of the Odd fellow and Rebekah Lodges of Earlham. He became a member in Illinois in 1889.
