MRS. EDITH ANDERSON PASSED LAST FRIDAY

75-Year-Old Resident Dies at Home of Son in Winterset

Mrs. Edith M. Anderson died in Winterset last Friday at the home of her son, James R. Anderson. She was 75 years of age, and had lived in Madison county many years.

Mrs. Anderson was the former Edith May Sturdevant, daughter of William C. and Margaret Frost Sturdevant, and was born July 16, 1869, in Illinois. As a child she moved with her parents to Greene county in this state, where she spent her early years, moving to Guthrie county about 1890.

She was married to James M. Anderson on Jan. 21, 1891. They lived most of their remaining lives in Madison county, and celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1941. Mr. Anderson died Dec. 5, 1941.

She is survived by her son, James R. Anderson of Winterset; her daughter, Mrs. Ethel F. Martin of Orient; a grandson, James R. Anderson, now in the service; four sisters, Mrs. Luella Oatman of Chariton, Mrs. Maud Cotter of Guthrie Center, Mrs. Agnes Goodman of Kirkland, Wash., and Mrs. Mabel Winters of Greenfield; and two brothers, E. W. Sturdevant of Draper, S. Dak., and W. C. Sturdevant of Broaderiek, Calif.

Funeral services were held here this Wednesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
