Services for Orie D. Lowden, 86, Fontanelle, who died March 25 at the Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle where he resided, were held at the First United Presbyterian Church in Greenfield with the Rev. Wayne Norris, pastor, officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born March 19, 1900 in Adair County, he was the son of William F. and Dora Mitchell. He attended rural schools in Adair, high school in Winterset and attended Iowa State University for a year.

Mr. Lowden married Zola Fern Sandy June 10, 1926 at Oskaloosa. He farmed for many years along the Adair-Madison county line and was a member of the Greenfield United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife of Greenfield; a daughter, Mrs. Lael Hansen and husband Harold of Atlantic; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, and infant son and a sister.
