Earlham (Special), Nov. 30th:--
Miss Vada Rhode died Wednesday morning at the Lutheran hospital following a brief illness. The body was brought to the Welch funeral home and services were held Friday afternoon at the Church of Christ with Rev. Salsbury of the University Church of Christ preaching the funeral sermon.
Miss Rhode was an aunt of Mrs. R. J. Lewis and Mrs. Al Byrnes, and made her home in Earlham for a number of years prior to moving to Des Moines. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Bricker of Des Moines.

Vada C. Rhode, 68 year old former resident of Earlham, died at the Lutheran hospital Wednesday, Nov. 25, following a short illness. Funeral services were held Friday at the Church of Christ in Earlham with Marvin O. Sansbury, pastor of the University Church of Christ in Des Moines, in charge of the services. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
Vada Rhode was born in Lee county, Iowa, July 1, 1874, the daughter of James and Lydia J. Rhode. She grew to womanhood at Salem and Fort Dodge, Iowa, and came with her parents to Earlham in 1900 where she made her home until 1933. She then moved to Des Moines and resided there until the time of her death. She was a charter member of the Church of Christ in Earlham and transferred her membership to the University Church of Christ in Des Moines.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Myrtle Bricker, and three nieces, Mrs. Cecile Lewis, Mrs. Mary Byrne and Mrs. Ruth Breheny and one nephew, Dale Bricker.
