MRS. MARY LORTON DIES AT NEWTON

Was 72-Years-Old; Moved From Winterset Two Years Ago

Mrs. Mary R. Lorton, former Winterset resident, died at the Skiff hospital in Newton last Thursday, less than half an hour after she had been removed from her home following a stroke suffered while preparing Thanksgiving dinner.

Mrs. Lorton who was 72 years of age, had moved from Winterset to Newton two years ago, and was an active member of the Eastern Star lodge, and of the Christian church. She was the widow of the Rev. J. E. Lorton who formerly held Christian church pastorates in several Iowa and Kansas towns.

Mrs. Lorton is survived by two sons, A. F. Lorton of Newton and D. E. Lorton of Kansas City, Kan.
