George Lavern Longnecker, 62, of Winterset died of a heart ailment April 22, 1999 at his residence.
Graveside services were held Saturday, April 24, at Winterset Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating.
George Longnecker was born May 13, 1936, to Edward James and Lula (Fletchall) Longnecker of Ottumwa. He had resided in Winterset for the past five years, having previously lived in Perry. George was a retired meat processor for IBP and Oscar Mayer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
He is survived by his partner, Alma Lymon of Winterset; three daughters, Lula Cline (husband Wayne) of Bayard, Brenda Cutherson (husband Doug) of Dexter and Georgina Cummins (husband Gary) of Glidden; and 14 grandchildren.
