Dale Lockart, Illinois

Dale Lockart, 77, of Vandalia, Ill., died April 26, 1996 at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia. Funeral services were at the First United Methodist Church and burial was at the McInturff Cemetery in rural Vandalia.

He was born April 21, 1919 in Tower Hill to Logan and Cynthia M. (Patterson) Lockart. He married Erma I. Emerick in 1940. He was an United Methodist minister, who served in several Effingham County area churches and served as Pastor in Truro in the late 1950s and the early 1960s. He was a member of the Southern Illinois United Methodist Conference; and was a U.S. World War II Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Surviving relatives include his wife; one son, Douglas Dale of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Donna Myers and husband Ted of Altamont, Ill., and Frances Johnson and husband Larry of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Paul Lockart of Centralia, Ill., and Jim Lockart of Beckemeyer, Ill.; four sisters, Clarabelle Crothers and husband Earl of Vandalia, Ill., Betty Morgan and husband Charles of Coulterville, Ill., and Darlene Crawford and husband Laverne of Henderson, Ind. Norma Jean Brookshire and husband Glen of Taylorville, Ill.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the United Methodist Children's Home in Mount Vernon, Ill., or the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville, Ill.
