R. A. CREGER Died Thursday At Truro
Long Time Resident There Buried Sunday From The Christian Church
R. A. Creger, member of a promient family in this community and long-time resident here, died at his home near Truro Thursday, Sept. 27, 1951. He was 77 years of age.
Mr. Creger was born in Warren county on Feb. 27, 1874, a son of Alvin L. and Della Smith Creger. His early life was spent in that community, and he received his education at LeGrande Christian college at LeGrande, Iowa.
He was a member of the Truro Christian church for 60 years. He had served it as deacon, trustee, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school Teacher.
Mr. Creger is survived by his wife, the former Alta Lucas, to whom he had been married almost 56 years. He also leaves a son, Leland S. Creger of Truro; a daughter, Mrs. Reba C. Dickson of Truro; six gandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nina DeBay of Sioux City; and a brother, Ed O. Creger of New Mexico.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Truro Christian church, conducted by the Rev. and Mrs. Verne Willey of Cromwell, formerly of the Truro church. Burial was made in the Hartman cemetery.

Ruby Andrew Creger, son of Alvin Lee and Della Smith Creger, was born February 27, 1874, in Warren county, Iowa and died at his home near Truro Sept. 27, 1951 at the age of 77 years.
In his youth he attended LeGrande Christian college for three years at LeGrande, Iowa.
He was a member of the Christian church in Truro for sixty years or more at the time of his death and had been deacon trustee, Supt. of the Sunday school and Sunday school teacher.
He is survived by his wife, the former Alta Lucas, originally of Warren county later of Fairplay, Missouri. They had been married almost 56 years. He is also survived by two children, Leland S. Creger of Truro and Reba C. Dickson, six grandchildren, Jack, Billy, Larry, Kay and Kent Creger, all of Truro and Mrs. Harry Alicia Bohannon of Louisville, Kentucky; his sister, Mrs. Nina De Bey of Sioux City and his brother Ed O. Creger of Roswell, New Mexico.
Funeral services were held at the Truro Christian church Sunday, Sept. 30 at 2:30 p. m. conducted by the Rev. Mrs. Willey and Rev. Verne Willey of Cromwell, former ministers of the Truro church. He wrote his own obituary and funeral sermon and requested his niece, Mrs. Della Beth De Bey Thomson to sing one number, and chose for his pallbearers his son, Leland and his five grandsons, sons of Leland S. and Phyllis Fluke Creger.
He was laid to rest in the Hartman cemetery overlooking the land he had tilled for more than 30 years.
