Sue Schweiker, 60, of Kalona died from complications of diabetes Sept. 1, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman with the Rev. Rich Pippert officiating. Burial was at Wellman Cemetery.
Sue Schweiker was born April 12, 1946, to Robert and Maxine (Barnes) Parris and was a graduate of Columbus Community High School in Columbus Junction and Simpson College. In April of 1971, she was married to Robert Schweiker; they later divorced. Sue was an elementary music teacher in the Winterset Community School District for 33 years before retiring in 2003. She moved to Wellman in 2003 and then to Kalona in 2005. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Marks.
She is survived by her father, Robert Parris and wife Bettie of Wedowee, Ala.; a sister, Barb Semler of Wellman; and a brother, Tim Parris of Tiffin.
Memorial contributions may be directed to a fund established for the Asbury United Methodist Church.
Arrangements were handled by Powell Funeral Home in Wellman.
