Walter Clifford Lienemann, son of Peter and Clara Storck Lienemann, was born at Earlham, Iowa, on August 3, 1897. He died on Friday morning, March 16th at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 13 days. His death occurred while he was asleep at his home in Jefferson township where he had lived since 1903.

A lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, he was baptized in infancy in his parental home near Earlham and was confirmed in his youth in Trinity Lutheran Church, Van Meter. In his more active years, he was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Men's Club.

He was a farmer all his life. On January 26, 1921, he was united in marriage with Rose Marie Rose in Des Moines. They were parents of eleven children. Mr. and Mrs. Lienemann celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1971.

He was preceded in death by his parents and only brother, all of whom were killed in a car-train accident, and by three children, Virgil, Mrs. Rosie Boone and Lowell.

He is survived by his wife; and eight children, Walter of Minburn, Peter of Van Meter, Nile of Macon, Georgia, Lawrence of Earlham, Elmer of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Mrs. Clara Reinholdt of Hartford, John of Greenfield, and Mrs. Edna Eaton of Sidney; and eighteen grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Lienemann were held March 20 from Trinity Lutheran church south of Van Meter.
