Streator - Francis W. Libby, 81, of 126 W. Hickory St., Streator, died at 6:27 a.m. Saturday (April 29, 1995) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.
Visitation will be for two hours before the service at the funeral home Thursday.

Mr. Libby was born Sept. 28, 1913, in Winterset, Iowa, a son of Albert and Angleia Libby. He married Margaret Jean Hulin July 3, 1933. She survives.

Other survivors include seven sons, William, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Jim, Delano, Minn.; John, Dixon, Mo.; and Kenny, Dick, Jerry and Larry, all of Streator; two daughters, Phyllis Hilderbrand, North Highlands, Calif., and Mary Barnes, Streator; one brother, Harold Libby, Winterset, Iowa; four sisters, Ruth Bush, Inez Harrell, Eloise Harrell and Betty Mae Stevenson, all of Winterset, Iowa; 38 grandchildren; and 55 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister and four grandchildren.

Mr. Libby and his wife owned and operated the Hillview Shelter Home in Streator.

He was a member of the Church of Christ, Streator.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Francis W. Libby, 81, of Streator, Ill., died April 29, 1995 at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator, Ill. Funeral services were at Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home.

Burial was at the Hillcrest Memorial Park.

He was born Sept. 28, 1913 in Winterset to Albert and Angleia Mae Libby. He married Margaret Jean Hulin on July 3, 1933. He was a member of the Church of Christ and he and his wife owned and operated the Hillview Shelter Home in Streator, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and four great-grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include seven sons, William Libby of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Jim Libby of Delano, Minn., John Libby of Dixon, Mo., and Kenny Libby, Dick Libby, Jerry Libby and Larry Libby, all of Streator, Ill.; two daughters, Phyllis Hilderbrand and husband Orson of North Highlands, Calif., and Mary Barnes and husband James of Steator, Ill.; one brother, Harold Libby of Winterset; four sisters, Ruth Bush, Inez Harrell, Eloise Harrell and Betty Mae Stephenson, all of Winterset; 38 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.

Francis Libby

Francis W. Libby, 81, of 126 W. Hickory St., died at 6:27 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 1995, at St. Mary's Hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home. The Rev. Mattie Gregg will officiate. Karen Libby, daughter-in-law, will sing "My Jesus I Love Thee."

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons, David Libby, Nick Libby, Clayton Libby, Jack Libby, Tony Libby and Dale Shipley.

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
