Services for Eleanor E. L'Estrange, 71, Norwalk, who died Sun. May 6 at her home, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thurs. May 10 at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church near Cumming with Father John Lorenz officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Born in Madison County on June 4, 1918, she was the daughter of Martin and Margaret Cunningham Roach. She attended the University of Iowa for two years and was married to Jack L'Estrange.
Survivors include sons, John of Slater, Iowa, Jerome of Basalt, Colo., Dan of Prole, and Joe of Indianola; daughters, Margaret L'Estrange, Pat L'Estrange and Denise L'Estrange, all of Norwalk, Susan Hart of Adel, Mary L'Estrange of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Teresa L'Estrange of West Des Moines; and 10 grandchildren.
Other survivors include two brothers, Kiernan Roach of Roundup, Mont. and Father Daniel Roach of Manilla, Phillipines; and a sister, Mary Drees of Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and her parents.
A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, May 9, at McLaren's Funeral Home in West Des Moines. Visitation will be held at McLaren's from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, can be made to St. Patrick's Church, Irish Settlement.
