Loretta Lehmer, Winterset

Loretta Ann Lehmer, 84, of Winterset, died of heart failure June 1, 2004 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 4, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset with Father Chris Hartshorn officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 3 at St. Joseph's where the family will be present. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Peru Cemetery.

Loretta Lehmer was born July 13, 1919 to Ed and Rose (Miller) Wiederholt of Conception, Mo. She resided in the Peru area since the age of 25 and had recently moved to Winterset. Loretta had been a merchandise inspector for Bob Allen Sporting Goods. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, Norbert, and Eddie Wiederholt; two sisters, Beatrice Lager and Kathleen Cole; and one granddaughter, Charity Dudney.

She is survived by one son, Raymond Lehmer of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Della Dudney of St. Charles and Phyllis Kulisky of Washington, Iowa; two brothers, Leroy Wiederholt of Stanberry, Mo., and Marvin Wiederholt of Ravenwood, Mo.; three sisters, Margaret Smith of Maryville, Mo., Delores Umphrey of Stanberry, Mo., and Millie Teeter of Missouri; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Habitat for Humanity or the Spina Bifada Association.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
